Nature Play-times
Green Trees are working with staff at Whitchurch Primary School to help encourage the whole school to engage with ‘nature-based play’ during their break times.
This really exciting project takes place once a week during lunch-breaktime and helps to engage all year groups with ‘nature-based-play’ within a small wooded corner of the school grounds. It has also given lunchtime staff the confidence to run these sessions safely throughout the week.
During these sessions we make shelters, paint the trees with mud paint and have an exclusive outdoor cafe - which serves up mud pies amongst other messy meals! ‘Bring a stick to school day’ ensures that we have plenty of natural materials and loose parts - to make dens , birds nests and all manner of other things!
