Green Trees helped to set up the ‘Friends of Reading Old Cemetery’ – known locally as ‘Cemetery Junction’

The group, which is part of Econet, have run several large events and open days at the site - all of which aim to promote and celebrate its wildlife and conservation value and also to encourage local people to come in and enjoy this tranquil, urban oasis. Working other partners including TCV (Trust for Conservation Volunteers) the group has also undertaken conservation and management of the site – such as traditional management of its wildflower meadow areas.
